A Conversation for Ode to a spousal unit

It was and you weren't.
Originally it was used to perpetuate some gender indeterminacy that I was fostering in my early days on the site.
Later, I kept with it because I just don't like the way the word "wife" sounds in my head.
It also sounds vaguely 'geeky'!
I used to have a girlfriend that was always calling me funny nicknames. I shaved once after having a beard for years and she decided I no longer looked like my real name, but that I looked like a 'Patrick'.
I decided she needed a nickname. For the rest of our relationship, she was known as SOTU, which stands for Scourge Of The Universe. She was so proud of that, because it made her sound important and more than Queenly or Emperorly.
Actually, the current permanent female is known as either of two things on a regular basis:
1. Queen of the Obvious
or
2. President of the Flat Surface Society.
