LDers' Bar: The Office
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 12, 2003
someone looks like she has been working hard there...
i hope she has passed the order for the stock so that we won't run out of drinks on the opening day...
anyway, it's celebration time for the mo'...
the bar and the quotes section are pratically ready to go "live" now...
tuning in and polishing will be done while the projects are running...
so for now...
let's enjoy the moment...

Nah, she hasn't been working hard...she just spilled some scotch on her desk...
Right, I'm off under the desk to check out the sleeping quarters...
Congrats and well done loup!!
All your work's paid off!
LDers' Bar: The Office
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 12, 2003
well, i'm glad manda was around to help... and of course, without the rest of the gang's suggestions it would not have gone that far i think...
the way it's going to look, with more rooms being added in a near future, is all thanks to everyone really...
a good example of team work in LDers' style...

That said loup, I think we should have a toast to dear departed rickety old LD You can do the speech because my brain just fizzled out...
Beejeesus! Has the bar been named yet?!!
LDers' Bar: The Office
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 12, 2003
the bar is still with no name...
"The foLDers' Arms" [with capital letters for L and D in the name] might be the one coming close to the reference to the LDers...
as for the speech about LD... i think that something like "we will miss the old site" says it all...
i've learned a lot during the year i've been a LD user... especially with the library... LD...
LD library...
we won't forget you...
the LDers spirit will live on... on h2g2...
mmmmm... that sounded like a speech...

Quite a good one too...
I was only in the Library for a few months, lurking a good deal longer than that, but it felt like a homely little community...sniff..which, as you say, we can hope to carry on here.
As you're management here, I won't offer you a drink...get it yourself Wingtip!
I hope Romani comes to christen her Cellar soon...
LDers' Bar: The Office
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 12, 2003
the BBC is paying for the drinks by the way...
i think the LDers spirit will carry on here... the projects popping up around us seems to prove it.... a dreamcast zone... a chat room... some help desks before... and of course the LDers space and more things being added for the LDers... definitely becoming more and more like a proper E-community...
as for the cellar... i hope romani will christen it as well...
it was one of the rooms that disappeared earlier... i was like praying she was not going to have a look while the darn thing was invisible...
looks good now tho'... and roomy...

Darn! If Romani had noticed, we could have had a little boxing match in the bar to pull in the punters!
Lucky escape there boss...
Yep, Romani's cellar looks plenty roomy, she needs plenty of room for the spinning. Just realised...if she lights a fire the whole bleemin' place will melt
Never mind
Next on the agenda...locking kow in the Ghost Room...
LDers' Bar: The Office
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 12, 2003
oooops... pressed wrong key...
never mind... gave me a chance to reply to my emails...
i think the cellar is made of artificial ice... so it won't melt... we don't want our favourite cellar keeper to catch a cold, do we?!...
the ghost seems to be a monk [drinks a lot too]... hopefully he was not a mad one when he was alive [or even now...]...
i've put some aside for the others... in case they come while we're not there...

re: kow... whatever you do _don't_ lock him in the ladies bathroom...
he _might_ enjoy it too much...
and we need him to have a clear head for the quotes section..

Aaah! The ghost of a monk of Buckfast Abbey...explains a lot.
We need to discuss the swivelling leather recliner in the corner...it's mine. If you want it you'll have to arm-wrestle me for it
went straight to me head...
I'm sure we'll manage to keep kow out of the Ladies, all I have to do is blow kisses at him and he scarpers
Pssst, is kow really a balding monk
LDers' Bar: The Office
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 12, 2003
i don't think he is a monk...
but i don't know about the balding bit... he might tell us after a few glasses of
didn't realised there was a hi-fi system in the office as well...
mmmmm... there might be a need for a staff room... especially for the late shift... duly noted on my "things to do" list...
more trips to the picture library on the cards it seems...

Colonel Codpiece Posted Jan 12, 2003
You're going to wish you'd never found that hi-fi...I'm prone to karaoke attacks.
Staff room? Well that would give us somewhere to confine all planning to, seeing as JA has a lot of party ideas...and of course somewhere to hide from dissatisfied customers
Off topic, that's me all ready for the Inland Revenue tomorrow...eeeeek! Pass us some of the hard stuff...
LDers' Bar: The Office
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 12, 2003
yeah... a staff room is always useful... and it's not like if we needed planning permission [or even money] for all that...
i wonder how big this bar can become... if we add like two rooms every week [for a while anyway], it should become rather big...
kind of TARDIS like...
the inlandthingy... yep... they definitly have a weird sense of humour there... maybe one of them was lurking and saw your journal entry...
then added 2 and 2 together and decided to play a trick on you by employing you...
but, as you said it's only for three months... should go rather quickly...
katrine seems to have probs with her digibox tonight... she will have to help herself with the if she comes later on... or whatever drink she wants...
i would be rather interested to hear what kind of drinks intergalactic beings err drink... dunno what would be the equivalent smiley wise...
<=== that looks alien enough i suppose...

Tardis? If this bar turns into Sci-Fi hell I'm off Kidding.
Did you read Jedi's new entry? Really good...I'd vote for it in the comp, but I've sworn not to vote until I actually write an entry...
I always thought the looked more like a toothbrush holder
As for more rooms, I think as the threads progress there should be a clearer idea of what type of rooms are wanted...but the more the merrier I say
You've just set off my paranoia... Bleemin IR, more like the FBI...
LDers' Bar: The Office
Loup Dargent Posted Jan 12, 2003
i think katrine's entry is the only one for this competition...
but she will sure deserve her three points for this week's first place... no problem there...
might plug it in one of the quotes section's threads as well... something to talk about...
we still have the staff room, quiz room, conspiracy room, games room, and superheroes room to add anyway... and of course whatever is suggested in future...
oh yes, the garden too... i've seen some great piccies for that... should be ready for when the weather is getting warmer..
i noticed there was a teapot smiley somewhere... it hasn't been used for a while as i haven't seen it before...
i wonder what else is available...
