This is certainly interesting. I would have to be in 3rd person if it were to get into the edited guide though. You will have to re-word all the bits with "I" in them. You could just replace "I" with "The author". Once you've done that, you're in with a chance, although you might need to right a bit more, it is a little thin.

Hmmm... here are some tidbits I think might be worth adding:
Are there any other words that Mainers speak differently than other Americans?
How different is speech in Maine from that in nearby states like Vermont or New Hampshire?
Is Mainer speech different in the cities (city, really) than in the more rural areas? I know this is the case in Texas, at least.
