Okay -- I just dropped over to that thread and invited the person to come join us in the PR thread.

So, looking back at the different comments people had made earlier in this Peer Review thread, do you truly feel you've addressed all the things they've said?
Because looking at the entry, it really doesn't seem drastically different than it did when it was first submitted -- it seems like some of the same problems still exist that were mentioned earlier.

Well I try to condense everything to within digibox ability which isn't much..

Well, if Digibox is the problem, then what you could do theoretically is to split the entry into two or more parts -- i.e., have the first part of the entry in this entry (A897906), and create a new entry for the next part, and post a note here letting us know the A number of the second entry -- that would give you more room to work with. Then, when the entry gets picked, the subeditor (who wouldn't have to deal with the constraints of a digibox), could combine it all back into one entry.
But really, I don't think it's likely the entry is going to be picked until you've addressed the problems people have brought up earlier in the thread. Having a digibox means that you have to find creative ways of doing so, not that your entry is going to be picked before it's really up to snuff.
I'll be glad to help where I can, though -- just let me know if you have any more questions!

I have found creative ways to use a digibox in my Bill and Ted entry and Lost in La Mancha and Tenacious D.
It's just that I don't throw a party everytime the end of a long entry gets blow up because it's too long.

I addressed that guy about Rob Brydon didn't I? I thought you were supposed to acknowledge suggestions, not take every critique?

One other film noir element borne out in the game is that it's always raining, and all the action happens at night.
There is not a single ray of sunlight in the whole thing.
Reading over this entry makes me want to play the game again.
Oh, and you surely must mention the cursor. That cursor is cool. The first time you can use the cursor the picture is of a private eye standing under a lamppost; you move the mouse and discover that the cursor is the glow of light from the lamppost! It impressed me the first time I saw it. Very neat. You get the feeling that the cursor is part of this world, rather than just an arrow pasted on the top of it.
All of these elements add to the noir feel of the game, which to my mind is one of the most important parts of the game, and I can't help but feel it has still not been addressed by this entry.

"I thought you were supposed to acknowledge suggestions, not take every critique?"
Especially when there have been as many valid critiques of the entry as there have been here, if you truly want to get the entry into the edited guide, you are expected to either:
1) Address the critique (and that means fix whatever problem the person brings up), or
2) Post a note in the thread explaining why you think the entry is *better* without that fix.
And yes, you are really expected to do either #1 or #2 for every valid critique (although if someone came here talking total trash, you would be completely within your rights to utterly ignore them -- but I don't see any such postings here). If there are more #2's than #1's, you will come across as rather surly, which tends to make people less likely to want to help you with your entry, a well as likely to want to *pick* your entry.
A good many of the suggestions, critiques, and comments people have made so far, you appear to have completely ignored. The problems are still there in the entry, and you haven't addressed the issues here in the thread, either.

How do I get this out of Peer Review?
I want to rewrite it... (but I don't want it anywhere near the Flea market!)

If you're rewriting it, and you expect to have it done in the next month, say, you can just leave it in Peer Review and come and let us know when it's done. If you expect it's going to take quite a bit longer than that, you can click on the link below to pull it out of Peer Review, and then resubmit it when it's finished again:
<./>SubmitReviewForum?action=removethread&rfid=1&h2g2id=897906</.>
And don't worry, it's very unlikely this would ever be sent to the Flea Market -- the Flea Market is *only* for entries where the author has "left the buliding" -- i.e., not posted on h2g2 for some months -- or for which the author has given up on the entry and agrees to have it moved there.

Is this still being worked on? Because it seems a shame that this entry *could* be really good but doesn't seem to have progressed...
