I'm hitting the second reply button because I think you'd rather the correct thread remain at the top. Besides, it looks like I'm the first.

I give an A for effort on looking up all the terminology in various cultures. I would suggest, however, breaking them up into more readable paragraphs and cleaning up the page a bit.

Good job. smiley - smiley

I think this is a good article but the layout needs to be addressed as presently it reads as one stream of conscious thought. Breaking it into paragraphs will make it a much easier read.

Thanks for the comments. Paragraphs are now posted amongst other things.

An admission: This was my 1st effort. I didn't know how to make paragraphs, change layout etc. smiley - bigeyes

Blatherskite the Mugwump - Bandwidth Bandit

I would suggest the long, rather complicated paragraph containing the foreign definitions could be better suited to a line-by line dictionary style, like this:

Sweden: this is Swedish name for it, and what it means

Germany: this is the German word, and what it means. Plus, a rather entertaining but pointless sidebar on Germans in general, because Germans are often pointlessly entertaining.

You get the idea smiley - fish

Maybe there could be some way of indicating when an entry has been approved and some indication of where the approved version lives. I know it has its drawbacks as an idea, not the least of which is that if you want to reuse the page and don't care if your original remains (or maybe even like the edited version better) it could upset the applecart, but... I'm at a loss to remember off-hand if this was ever approved. smiley - sadface (Sorry, Looney.)

I know I could look it up, but quite frankly I've been running my little tail off since Vday (and before, even) and I'm a bit tired.

Rejected Nonnie - It didn't fit the guidlines of the time. Ironically it does meet the new guidelines. I could rejig and resubmit it but alas apathy rules. smiley - fish

To date I've only resubmitted one entry. Of course, now I'm at the end of the queue again, so whether or not it did any good remains to be seen.

You do realize that the Norweigan CurlaAlpha thing is mentioned twice in close proximity, right? Not that this is terribly wrong, but it's distracting and redundant.

Always wondered about '@'-- never got answers until now; great entry!
