I'll bow to your superior knowledge! Nutria was suggested, but I didn't realise they were so groundhog-like.

Helpful for us North Americans, it says a nutria 'can be confused with the wholly terrestrial groundhog which has a much smaller tail.'

No kidding! I also thought of a Coypu!
