A Conversation for 24 Lies a Second: The Ecstasy and the Agony
I think the movie succeeds at making Elvis a sympathetic character

There were long stretches when I wondered why the movie was named after Colonel Parker. But Elvis grew on me. I bought a CD with all his number one hits, and listened to them in order. I was amazed at the growth in quality of his singing voice. Regardless of what Parker was doing or not doing, Elvis was growing in his ability. He never found many movies that used his talents to best effect, but his daughter Lisa Marie was blown away by "Elvis." Her biggest regret is that her son did not live long enough to see it. This strikes me as praise of the highest order. Maybe "Elvis" is the movie that finally got to the core of its namesake.
