What with the Coronavirus Pandemic situation, I haven't been able to travel to meet my honorary in-laws for more than 18 months. However, things worked out in such a way that my honorary sister-in-law T was able to visit me for a change.

I was a bit nervous, as it is years since I last entertained guests and cooked dinner for someone other than my parents. However, I needn't have worried. T enjoyed a tour of my abode and, although the presentation wouldn't have won any prizes on MasterChef, the meal tasted good, which was the main thing.

The next day, we enjoyed exploring RSPB Burton Mere and the west coast of the Wirral. Even though the weather was changeable, with rain showers, there was a pleasing variety of wildlife around. We saw dragonflies as well as birds such as kestrels, spoonbills, egrets and geese. Here are some photos.
