A Conversation for Awix in Exile: Bus Stations of the Heart

Throw in a ghost, and the station might attract attention ;-)

Post 1

paulh, making lemonade from the lemons that life has given me

Well, why not? The U.K. has haunted train stations. Maybe they are popular on Halloween. Or not.

I was born in a small city that was most famous for exporting Agnes Moorehead to Hollywood. (If you're a classic film buff, then the keyword is Rosebud. If you're a classic TV series buff, then she was a witch in "bewitched." She *almost* got her own series in which she was to costar with Zasu Pitts, another star that we don't much about these days...)

My parents moved my family to a small town next door, where Napoleon *almost* got to spend his period of exile.

I could hardly wait to get out of those places. But we didn't have a train station, let alone a bus station.

So, you grew up in a a place that had opportunities denied to me. I now live a quarter mile from a bus stop. I'm on the map. Whoopee!

Oh, I forgot that your columns aren't about movies any more. Sorry....
