It could take me six months to choose a source

paulh, the apocalypse is coming, it's just late

Sounds like a good project, though.

Last year I didn't want to do historical fiction. This year's theme seems more adaptable. smiley - smiley

I will try not to do to the tale of Odysseus what James Joyce did to it. Not that I would choose that tale. I just want my readers to have some fun. Trying to get back home after a major event or project is a time-worn theme.

Chaucer and Longfellow hit literary paydirt with pilgrims stopping at inns or the equivalent. Even Tolkien had an inn as a haven in Rivendell.

See? Too many choices.

Okay, let's suppose that you have an inn that wanders through time and space, a la Howl's moving castle. Who comes in depends on which door you open.

Please do not tell us the story NOW. We will completely ignore you. As we will ignore all claims that your story will be better than ours, etc. smiley - laugh

We will be too busy working on our own stories to discuss your ideas. (Also, somebody might steal yours, so smiley - shhh)

This is to give all of us time to prepare.
