smiley - ok Thank you for this - I saw the trailers for the show, but didn’t see any episodes. A film couldn’t have done it justice indeed, with such a cast. Fascinating link to Queen’s Greatest Hits. Could well explain why the album did so well last year!

I like the malapropisms - is that your computer’s autocorrect that is worried about the distraction of the Earth and being spurned to compare for emergencies? smiley - laugh

I have read the book of course, and know what this is all about. I had heard that this series was being made. Not sure if all readers would be au fait with everything mentioned, but I am never sure about that here on h2g2. Often prior knowledge is taken for granted.

However, I learned a lot and found the entry well written and comprehensive.

Two exceptions would be that in the first paragraph under "legacy" you mention the lockdown and DT and MS's "lockdown short". We all know what that means *now* but in time, it might be necessary to say "the lockdown of 2020" or similar. It does go on to give the date when they made their TV series but it doesn't necessarily follow that that came straight after the previous collaboration.

The other stumbling block on reading was the sentence under Plot which begins "Also trying to prevent..." It's rather convoluted and I had to take several runs at it before I sorted it out. Could you perhaps break it down into smaller chunks for bears of little brain like me? Thank you.

As for your cat, maybe this will help. http://pbs.twimg.com/media/EoXlBwoU8AcOUIx?format=jpg&name=900x900

Thanks for your comments, I've made some changes.
I take your point that readers won't necessarily be au fait with everything, but I think readers generally accept that often entries they are reading may contain references that will make more sense the more familiar with a subject that they are. Alternatively everything would have to be over explained in excruciating detail, which wouldn't be of benefit either.

As with all things there's a balance somewhere in between - finding it is always tricky, though...

This morning (cat) hasn't wanted to go outside because it is too cold, but doesn't want to be inside either so is very restless and is taking it out by pacing across the keyboard.

While the showbiz info always leaves me cold, I enjoyed the series very much and have watched it twice so far. smiley - smiley Nice summary.

You might want to note that the witches in the story are named for the Pendle Witches, since that's a UK reference. smiley - winkeye

smiley - ok I'd change 'Agnes' to 'Alice', though, in that reference. Alice was the historical witch. smiley - smiley

Caiman raptor elk - Inside big box, thinking.

Good work!

I own the book and I have seen the series, so I would probably overlook missing information for people who are new to the matter.

Clerical note on footnote: As far as I know the Patrician's Clerk is called Drumknott, not Drunknott.

(Given his personality, he will probably be perpetually not drunk)

Yes, as someone who is not familiar with this story, I found the Plot section is clear, and the references made sense in context, so I think you have found the balance smiley - ok

Just reading again, here are a few things to consider:

Perhaps the 6x1hour would fit better into the second paragraph.

"the American ambassador" - is that the American ambassador to the UK?

Just to clarify, I presume David Tennant and Michael Sheen were in the UK's lockdown in May 2020, not South Africa's.

"Staged (June 2020-21)" - June 2020 to June 2021?

Thanks for confirming that, and hopefully the tweaks I've made following all your comments will clarify the last few outstanding potential areas of confusion smiley - ok

I've now binge-watched the series and loved it. There are so many details that I'm sure I missed so I may watch it again some time.

I am not sure if I have actually read the book. I know I heard the radio adaptation, though. You haven't mentioned that. But as the entry is now edited, it's too late to say anything. It was broadcast in December 2014 and Terry Pratchett had a cameo role.

I say I loved the series but I am slightly going off David Tennant as a result of it.

So do you now consider David Tennant to be demonic? smiley - devil

Well, he certainly looked as though he was enjoying himself way too much. But then again, he was only acting the part. He was pretty much his normal self on Have I got News For you last week.
