Planned obsolescence

Did anyone mention planned obsolescence? This is where companies design and build their phones and computers so they become obsolescent after a couple of years. This practices ensure that the companies go on making money, but it is very wasteful of the materials in their devices.

Hi mvp - thanks for reading
http://cogx.co/programme/ I can imagine there would have been some mention of planned obsolescence somewhere, as there were sessions on sustainability amongst the many strands.
It was amazing how the organisers brought so many people together - I was lucky that the sessions that most captured my interest were at 5pm so I could go to them after I finished my day's work (from home) - transferring from one to the other was like teleporting
