FWR:

Classic imagery from DG. Something about black and white photography and railways that always stirs the romantic travel urge. Apart from the obvious attractions in this image, that little shack on the side of the building draws the eye, a place to sit and watch the world go by maybe? Lovely photo.

DG:

Thanks! One advantage of being a passenger is the chance to find photography subjects.

There is something evocative about railway lines. They make one think of partings - lovers separated, young men going to war...

This comment is about the building, not the tracks. I used to think that "V.F.W." stood for "Very Fine Weather." Maybe it's a fine day to ride the train? smiley - winkeye

Just FYI for everybody else: VFW stands for 'Veterans of Foreign Wars'. It's a support organisation. smiley - smiley

That is a superb image - I love the camera angle sitting between the tracks, and again the perspective is strong. The black and white helps to draw the eye to the rails even more strongly smiley - ok

I also enjoy the railways getting closer together as they approach the horizon. And that building looks lived-in.
