The Stupid family calls its dog Kitty. Not that I'm endorsing their mindset. Or their literary adventures, though I like it that they hang bacon and eggs on their clothesline.smiley - drool

Let's be compassionate toward this snake. It's beautiful in its way. probably quite beautiful to snakes of the opposite gender. And, why is it that, when pressed to think of names for a snake, people talk about what they've named their cats or dogs? I'm not saying anything bad about cats or dogs, but herewith a sampling of witty names that have been coined for other snakes:

Snavely Snake is the resident snake in the Okefenokee swamp of "Pogo," a comic strip by Walt kelly.

If a Sea serpent is related to snakes, then Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpenty is the friend of Beanie, a acrtoon character by Bob Clampett.

The snake in the garden of Eden is known by its Hebrew name Nachash.

Or Crawley. (See 'Good Omens'.)

When I was in junior high, one of the high school students had a boa he called 'Julius Squeezer'. He brought it to our science class to show. smiley - smiley Very pretty snake.

i used to like snakes. I one found a ribbon snake scrawling near our family's brook. I picked it up and thought ti might want to wind around my arm. It didn't. Instead it bit me. I got a tetanus shot.

Crawley is an excellent name! Does this mean the family living in Downton Abbey is a family of snakes? smiley - biggrin

I understand that Saint Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland. It doesn't say which model of car he drove them in. But how did he get them out of the car at the border?

No snakes here either, although I am not a Saint. Maybe it has something to do with ladders.

There are snakes in the Common Area in my park.

There were snakes among the stones under the steps to my parents' back door.

Does snake skin get made into designer apparel?

Apparently, snake designs are made into designs to be printed on fabrics for women's clothing

As long as people aren't killing snakes for their skin or other body parts, and as long as there are areas of wilderness where snakes can live unmolested (and, hopefully, unpoached), there will still be some.
