FWR says:

At first glance this looks like a bunch of white carnations...or a crystal salt formation...or maybe a time lapse image of growing deep sea coral?

This image really plays tricks with the viewers' eyes...and minds. Surreal doesn't do it justice, maybe mind-bending would be more accurate?

Very nice contrast too, well done CC.

Its an expert!! Yes! Good to see you sir and thankyou.

These are edges of my reason.

And??

You know what, this was an everyday object, I can't remember what, smiley - rofl seriously, and it went through a filter called height map and I fell in love with the result.

This is a great game.smiley - rofl The Suzie Q Ferguson Method of Art Photography.

CC takes an ordinary household object.

Photographs it with a weird filter.

Promptly forgets a) what kind of filter it was, and b) what the object was in the first place. smiley - rofl

This is better than Jackson Pollock. smiley - run

Caiman raptor elk - Inside big box, thinking.

That looks good!

Problem: I am now tempted to try and reverse engineer the image to find out what the household object actually was. I also know that this is a case of mission impossible, not knowing the exact settings of the filter you used, but it might yield something which is beautiful on its own (and not recognisible as your original at all)
Even if I would succeed in getting anything recognisable, it may be something else entirely.

Does the software have a 'restore to original' or revert setting

Personally I hope not!

Evening all! Ah splendid diversion. Had a long day. Lemon spouts and funny filters much needed. Heheh

Good thinking Caiman. In my next experimental phase (wahhohnohelp) (that was the sound of Post Ed anticipating my next experimental phase. Haha) I shall keep the original image so I can chart the morph process.

I do have one experimental pic that I sent Ed (waaohnohelp) for which I do have the original as well because its the Suzie Q bakewell tart photo.

Wait. Going back to listings to see if I can find anything. Are we allowed to mention Other Apps here? Or is it advertising?

So can't find any evidence but I suspect it was a china plate on a picnic table on our balcony.

The rest of my experimental phase (wahohnohelp) was done on said balcony under the influence of a rather fine glass or two of lunchtime cider. smiley - cider And there are some abstract pics in the file involving a plastic cactus, a stone bowl full of beach rocks and a red plastic tray.

I've found the filter. And the app. If I direct you to it you will realise what a cheat I am. Its cool though. You guys would create better things than me. Pay me. I'll direct you. OK you dont have to pay.

Now that is a good idea. Just have to pass through the heat barrier (20 to 36 degrees)

Jackson Pollock always seemed a little fishy to me. smiley - winkeye

China on a picnic table? Somehow I thought the former was too fancy for the latter. Not that I would prefer melamine smiley - yuk.

This is a fascinating 'height map' image - I like the depth in it, and the texture is impressive smiley - biggrin
