What is your guess as to the function of the long tufts of fur on the ear? I am glad that they are so long lived. Cats are pretty good at healing themselves of injuries and must have killer immune systems. Thanks for letting us know about them!

Hello Elektra and Bob! Glad you liked this. I really don't know why lynxes have the ear tufts. The African caracal has them too, even though it's not a close relative. It might be having to do with display ...
