Groundhog Sighting

A groundhog

There he was, bold as brass, out back of the Post Office. That's a groundhog, Marmota monax. He (or she, only they know, I guess) lives next door, behind the neighbour's woodpile. He shows up in our yard periodically, but is shy: by the time I run for the camera, he's high-tailed it back to the underbrush. This time, though, I caught some quick footage, and managed to isolate a photo.

Groundhogs: they aren't only for February.
