An audience of one?

I write for fun
And nothing more.
I draw for pleasure,
Don't keep score.

But friends they ask,
Who reads your stuff?
Comments? Likes?
You get enough?

Depends on sites
And what you post.
Biker sites
You get the most.

I put a piece up
Go to bed.
A thousand hits
On one big thread.

Other sites
It takes a week
No one seems
to have a peek.

It's not about
the counter clicks
I write for fun
And just for kicks.

But if you take
The time to read
And leave a comment
On my feed.

It's nice to know
You see my stuff
But writing it
Well, that's enough!

Yes, I know what you mean! smiley - biggrin

I write all sorts of stuff which I don't really expect people to read. Poetry is the hardest because a lot of people who will read fiction and non-fiction won't touch poetry. smiley - sadface

For me, I'm not sure if it's just the love of playing with words smiley - biro or an attempt to make sense of the world around me. smiley - erm

I enjoy your art and writing
And consider it a pleasure
I find the flow of your ideas exciting
They seem to come without measure.

If there's a time when inspiration
Has popped out for a little while
Don't forget that your skilful imagination
Has so often made us all smile.

I find poetry to be mixed - some I struggle to read and don't really understand, but other poems leap out at me somehow, as they encapsulate deep and meaningful concepts delicately within few words...

I admire the skill in writing poetry, too, as that's something else that is a struggle for me - these poems here are superb smiley - biggrin

You can call me TC

Sorry, I've only just found these. Well done! I am enjoying reading your poems here. I tried to write a poem every day one Najopyjamathingy but couldn't keep it up.

Looks like the best way is to start long in advance and have them ready to upload each day.

There are so many lovely words in English, it's just a case of putting them in the right order!

Thanks for reading! Most of these are little rhymes I make up at work to keep me sane, some are little country and western style lyrics, kind of Songs from the Freeway of my Working Life.smiley - cheers

I once wrote a rhyme to the wild singing birds
But a judge called me mad, and erased all my words
So I wrote it again, in my own sacred code
And I'll see all you poets out there on the road.

Translation. Erm.. yes! We have to get out there and create anyway, no matter what.
