Off we went to Shakespeare's Head--Agapanthus, minichessemouse, Sol, Superfrenchie, Bald Bloke, and I. When we arrived, MMF, his fiancee, Robbie, a man that I later realized was Icy North (he introduced himself using a name not related to either his h2g2 name or his FB name (Ice North) so I didn't put it together until later, possibly after he'd left), Hati, and Hapi were in a booth--along with a random couple that were there before the first of us, and agreed to share (from what I'd gathered, at least--I wonder if they regretted it?) 2legs and W had not been able to make it, alas--2legs had messaged earlier that W was decidedly unwell (turned out to be a massive ear infection, bad enough to affect W's equilibrium). Many hugs were exchanged, and I was a bit overwhelmed with gifts--a red h2g2 bag (which I used the whole rest of the trip along with my bottomless purse), h2g2 pins, a movie-version Marvin keychain, Marmite cashews , a bag of cracklings --and Hati had given me a goo blue Don't Panic towel the night before. I had bought a bunch of postcards to give out as gifts at meets, and passed them around to show he beauty of where I live, and some of the wildlife. Including a certain species, the order of which I happened to know Ag is afraid of--I handed her the packet, told her that there was one that I was pretty sure she *wouldn't* like, and then watched (Hey, at least I warned her!) I had also made pumpkin fudge to share at meets, as well as some people specifically requesting some--but I'd left it safely in Ag's fridge As at most meets, there was lots of talking (Robbie said I'd secured a place in h2g2 history twice--once for running around a getting a *lot* of the permissions needed for the first h2g2 book, the one put together soon after the BBC announced that h2g2 was for sale. I'm a bit fuzzy on why my trip would be h2g2-historical, though), , and there was food. I was able to cross off one of the things-Amy-must-eat from my list--I had a steak and ale pie
We eventually changed tables to a larger one, and then HappyDude arrived, and I won the long-awaited who-has-the-longer-ponytail comparison (OK, so I may have been the only one that remembered that we were going to do that, as we'd joked around about it over a decade ago, but I still won...) Shortly after that, spimcoot arrived. Robbie spoke with them for awhile, and then I monopolized my twin (OK, so Happy was born 6 years too early, to the wrong woman in the wrong country, but we have the same birthday, so we're twins) and someone with whom I used to talk to online almost every day. Oh, and I have an autographed copy of Eustace I missed saying goodnight to a few people as they had to leave--when Ag, min and I had to leave to catch the last bus, 'twas us three and Happy and spim left, and the guys were still talking as we said our goodbyes.

I made a pretty darn tasty steak-and-ale pie for Christmas Eve, if I do say so myself-the only one that didn't like it much was Notepad, whom I'd not expected to like it, anyway.
