Tempest?

It looks as if a gale has been blowing, doesn't it? And people say the South of England has a mild climate.

But it's like that on the Downs. It can be a mild, still day at the bottom of the hill, and blowing a gale at the top. At least it's not the Cairngorms. They get real gales there. Brr.

heheh. Yes. smiley - kiss Those windblown trees, I think they look like scuttling figures. I do confess that I find masts quite beautiful. Not very eco responsible of me perhaps.

Of course, the mast wasn't really leaning like that, it's me. I'm the leaning photo taker of Pisa, in a gale.

How come the Leaning Tower of Pisa leans? I must find out.

Dmitri Gheorgheni - Not Banned in China

I didn't know, either. smiley - rofl Apparently, it was:

- Poor foundations.
- The fact that it took 199 years to build, so it didn't fall down first.
- Something about wars between Pisa and Florence, Pisa and Lucca, etc. Which sounds to me like Chicago declaring war on Gary, Indiana, but hey, it's Italy.
- Oh, and since they tried to compensate by making some of the upper stories TALLER on the other side, the thing's actually curved. smiley - rofl

What a fun building.

We should have a poetry contest in its honour.

smiley - rofl You won the contest already, matey. smiley - rofl. No poem can match that little piece of surreal history you just wrote. It's the way you tell 'em.

Mind you, around 'ere, you never know what the poets will come up with. smiley - rofl

Cue mvp.

And others.
