Oddity of the Week: Outted on Social Media

Another guilty pleasure.

Outted on Social Media

Look who's kissing.

You laugh. You snigger. You feel superior. You probably think, 'Look at those dorky people from a century ago, peeking at the necking couple. Don't they have better things to do?'

How many online gossip columns have you read today? Did you spend your time in the supermarket checkout line ogling the magazine headlines about the latest Hollywood break-up, and who said what to whom? Aha! Caught you in a guilty pleasure.

Do you read Facebook and Twitter a lot? What for? Oh, to be well-informed. We believe you…

Although the choir in New South Wales tells a different story about the purpose of social media… (Those song lyrics are taken from real postings.) That's okay, it's harmless fun.

So is the innocent necking picture. Just think: somebody snapped it. Then they put it in the Library of Congress. And now, after almost a century, it ends up on the internet.

OMG.
