I'm glad you wrote this Dmitri - I'd have written it with far too many dodgy puns. Anyway - it's excellent. Nice to see you rolling back the years.

(glottalstop) Excellent entry. If you Did want to link this to Z Reticuli, and I'm not saying you Should, or that it would even be anything but a completely gratuitous link, But... I do find it interesting that Noone At All is looking for the HF not even tinfoil hats and this is So odd that I suspect a conspiracy is afoot I suspect aliens and mass hypnosis. That's what I suspect.

Hi Icy
Just an overly long walk around the block - but I've stumbled back, and its great to see so many smiley faces again.

You answered all of my questions in the course of the entry (wait, they saved the foreskin?), except one: how is January first the date of circumcision if Easter is the date of Jesus's birth? Traditionally, Jews circumcise seven days after birth. Calendar messiness, I'd guess. Still, seems awfully disorganized of the Church.
Great entry.

Leo, jesus's birth is celebrated on Christmas, not Easter.
Easter is when he comes back to life, having died on Good Friday.

Yeah, after I posted I walked around all afternoon wonder "Wait, it can't be Easter, because what's all that baby Jesus in the manger stuff on Christmas?"
Shows how much I know about Christianity.
Do you have a description of this foreskin, by the way? I mean, it must be rather small and easily mislaid. I'm very impressed that it lasted until the 20th century.

*waves to Leo*
And I am falling about laughing (is there such a smiley in the database?) at: "Yeah. I think being circumcised AFTER Resurrection would constituted adding insult to injury." which is my "quote of the year" (so far...)

I'm afraid there are no pictures available of the Holy Foreskin. And I doubt FWR should draw one...
But one version of the story says St Bridget of Sweden used to wear it as a pinky ring, which is pretty stsartling.

Didn't the Swedes invent pork scratchings?

I'm just curious as to why, and who, would have kept the foreskin.
And, reaching, for my coat, regarding 'And that could have given the Second Coming an entirely new meaning.' Wasn't that experienced by Mary Magdalene?
