That would be really helpful - thank you. And good luck with the ride and hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, so do I - these winter ones are a bit of a lottery with the weather.
In March, when it was supposedly 'safe' I went to start one in Oxford and was faced with a Bilzzard on the morning. That was supposed to be my first 300 km ride. Forced me into an absurd grimpeur permanent as my first which was horrendously difficult - although I did manage it.
Hopefully this cold but dry weather we are currently getting will hold out...

Here you go - not sure they are very good photos but they will have to do for now.
The monuments you see are Tintern Abbey and Raglan castle. This was taken from the Monmouthshire Meander 200k ride, 7th December 2013

I can be seen in one photo in a blue top and red shorts grinning inanely at the camera.
The guy at the side in one photo is the current AUK champion (2 years running) - and I beat him to that control (Chepstow garden centre)

I hope you appreciate the trickiness of getting 'action' photos of riders actually riding. The ones you do see were taken at the halfway point in Abergavenny - I'd been sitting there for 10 minutes camera poised… as soon as I put my phone down, disappointed that noone had cycled past - guess what - a huge peloton of club riders hoved through before I could react

Thanks Orcus! I've taken the liberty of sending friends request, so I can ask questions/comment on photos. Please feel free to delete me after we get photos sorted, if you like

I've added some captions to hopefully make them a bit less cryptic

Thanks Orcus, I've sent some to the Artists to upload to h2g2.
The event looks fun, anything with a reason to eat banoffee pie for breakfast seems good to me!

Just adding the delightful link you shared via FB to this thread Orcus

I'll try and weave it in to the relevant section, if that's okay with you? I'm hoping we can get this into the Guide this coming weekend.

No worries - it wasn't really intended for you but it did occur to me afterwards that it would be a nice thing to link in

It's a bit odd that they make no mention of him completing LEL on that bike this year. It is after all 200 km longer than PBP.
Key: Complain about this post
