We have finally seen this film, courtesy of Netflix.

I gave it a 2 rating, only because I admired Benedirct Cumberbatch's restraint in not sounding remotely like Ricardo Montalban. Also, he was the only one who appeared to be acting.

The really good thing about original 'Star Trek' was that they could not afford to put on these displays of boring special effects and long car...er, spaceship chases.

We were on the edge of falling asleep the whole way through this turkey. Also, I kept imagining what Slavoj Zizek would say about the inherent underlying ideology of it all...

So I had to go back and re-read your review. I think you were too kind to it.

But I agree: the hats were amazingly out of place.
