The Preakness Stakes, second leg of the Triple Crown, will be run on Saturday May 18th, at the Pimlico race track, Baltimore, MD (USA). The purse is a non-trivial US$1,000,000 (one million).

I am about to drop back to the 19th Century, and will not be back on-line until after the race.

As much as I would like to see Orb win the Triple Crown, I shall place my bet elsewhere;

Just going to go with my gut.

Given that I love The Orb (British electronic band) I'm going for that one. To win.

I'm also going for The Netherlands to win Eurovision, but that ain't gonna happen either

I fancy Mylute and Itsmyluckyday because of the quality of the jockeys: John Velazquez is on the latter, and Rosie Napravnik (the only woman riding) is on Mylute.

I'm not inclined to judge the lineup on how they performed at the Kentucky Derby, because that was more like mud wrestling.

So I'll bet two dollars on both horses, each way.

Not quite as much interest as the first one
I wonder if the excitement has worn thin, or putting the thread here instead of Ask did not get us as much attention

Maybe just a busy weekend, I was out of town myself for the entire day
