Many years ago in early TV, technical problems were abundant and all to often the tv screen would show = "normal service will be resumed as soon as possible"

Technology has advanced rapidly but! "normal service will be resumed as soon as possible" is still relevant

All we got was "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please stand by."

Same story on the favorites link to Pliny.

If I use the favorites link to Pliny the machine won't log me in.

Ditto if I attempt to log into Pliny through the front page link in Brunel.

Since one navigates to the four Ripley skins from preferences after logging into Pliny, the situation amounts to hanging by a thread.

I pinned My Space in Brunel in my browser on all my computers and keep an open tabs (my space and my convos) on my android devices. If I try to post and get asked to log in, I just refresh and it's usually fine. I rarely log in.

I haven't logged out for yonks and always have at least one h2g2-tab open 24/7 all year

And my computer is running all the time also - except when I have to restart after updating

I just had a peek at Pliny. You are right. Unlike in the Ripley skins the "advanced search" only allows searches or entries and for a friend. Also, although I am logged in here, opening a Pliny window asks me to log in again.
