I haven't used Pliny for months since I found out that Ripley/Alabaster w*rks more often and better for me

I still have a link to 'my conversations' in Pliny, though, because it was sometimes easier to use. In particular it highlighted all the threads that contained new posts I hadn't seen yet

I hope this makes sense

Brunel has that handy "My Conversations" pop-up that checks for new posts every minute or two.

You don't have to sign in to read it. At least I don't, in an incognito window.

Nope. Even in Brunel, you don't need to sign in to read anything, just to post. Of course navigation might be difficult without a direct link to a Brunel page, but with a bit of URL manipulation it can be managed.


When I was trying to post the Cancel thread the other day, I considered doing just the opposite, pulling up the brunel version and editing it for Pliny, but I couldn't remember the normal format for conversations in Pliny and couldn't quickly find a link directly to the Ask H2G2 forum. That's another thing bad about pliny, no direct links to Ask from the front page.

Ditto on Pliny.

It's true that I don't *have* to sign in to read, but if I try to sign in to post I can't.

Just like ITIWBS I have a direct link from the favorites bar on the computer. Actually I have two: One link to Alabaster (Ripley) and one to Pliny. I *am* signed in to Alabaster and it w*rks okay now, but the link to Pliny simply doesn't w*rk. Until a few weeks ago it did.
