What I didn't realize was that Scarlet O'Hara was misquoted. If the lady was real, this might have been more serious, not that she'd still be alive to be indignant. smiley - winkeye

EVERYone knows that Frank Lee is the unrecognized kid brother of Stan Lee. 19th cousin, thrice removed, of Bruce Lee . . .

I still don't give a damn.

I want to, but I'm referencially prohibited from doing so.

I would give a dam if I could afford it. But with the oceans rising we need all the dams and dykes we can lay our hands on (or stick our fingers in as it were) here in the lowlands lest our ladies should become sad eyed smiley - erm

Wow, a whole mini discussion about something that was never said in the book*. smiley - smiley

Deb smiley - cheerup

*I always thought it was "My dear, I don't give a damn" in the book and "Frankly, I don't give a damn" in the film, then usually misquoted as a combination of both: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn". But no, the usual quote is correct to the film. I have too much time on my hands this afternoon and am spending it on you tube and in front of my bookcase smiley - biggrin

Years ago, a fellow student at the University of Bonn made me sit through 'Gone with the Wind' dubbed in German, just to find out how they translated that sentence.

Florida Sailor All is well with the world

It is Scarlet's reply, it is usually quoted 'tomorrow is just an other day.', but the actual line was 'tomorrow is but another day.'

A minor difference, but the one sounds like she accepted her fate, while the other implies she is already scheming to get him back.

Probably a bit like Pearl Harbor quote 'Date that will live in infamy' is often misquoted as 'Day of infamy' again a small difference, but it drives me up the wall to hear things misquoted that have been clearly recorded.

The last sentence of the book is "After all, tomorrow is another day".

Actually, I just double checked on You Tube, and that's the last sentence of the film too - skip to 2:58 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4HPnio2wyAsmiley - smiley
