The big question is - did you get a stamp in your passport when you went there?
I did when I went to Turkey, one of the few times I've ever been stamped. Why can't they stamp more, eh? I'd happily pay £5 or so to get a stamp each time I go abroad to make my passport look impressive...

We have those plastic ID cards, so they couldn't stamp those anyway.
They gave us each a tiny piece of paper with a stamp on it. later we were told that if we lost it, we wouldn't be able to leave the country again. I was so glad I hadn't dumped it in the next bin, because nobody had told us to keep it when we were handed it. I think there was only the date on it, so nothing to identify the person entering the country by.
