I submitted this a while back where it was totally ignored! It has since attracted some comments and a few admirers. So in a new improved form Lance is back!

Well, I like to think I've learnt something new everyday, and I guess I should thank you for illuminating me on this gem of TV history that had previously escaped my notice.
Good article as well. I cannot think how the Guide can contimue without it.

Thanx SharkyAs your on the page, could you answer me an Otway question. I saw JO back in 78(?). Him and WWB had just had their first major Tiff. Did WWB do a record where he sawed JO's guitar in half?

You appear to have mistaken me for an Otway fanatic. Sorry, I don't know the answer to the question, though it *sounds* highly probable...

Oh dear. On Lance. The reason I wrote it is that I was a huge fan as a kid but can't find anyone who can remember it, which is a crying shame. Incidentally, if you type Lance Link on Google and do a world search the fifth entry up is this one

I'd never heard of it before, I must confess. And I'm pretty good on trvial US tv. I mean, I've even heard of'The Flying Nun'.
On Otway, try posting in one of the threads that was on here recently when he was in the charts-there seem to be some frighteningly well informed Otway-ists there.

Ignored? I remember it getting a pretty good conversation
Looks good to me - ready for picking off the PR tree and dropping into the Edited Guide salad

Looks good to me too. Never heard of it before, though.
I do remember Get Smart - all those closing doors!

- I commented in the original thread, and what I said still stands, of to the EG with it- I do still think however, that it would be better to refer to the series as a pastiche on the spy genre, rather than Get Smart! in particular.

I do also think maybe you should mention the fact that it's a tv show in the title?
Feel free to let us know what you decide...

Cheers guys. I think the reason I mentioned Get Smart! in particular was that Marmer & Burns, who wrote LL, were previously brought in by (whatsisname -Mel Brooks' mate from GS!?) to work on Get Smart! So when they moved on they took that genre with them. So they may have been deliberately aping GS! which was of course a parody of Bond/UNCLE etc. On reflection you are right it's wrong to pick out just one series but I should keep in the script writing credits.
I suppose I should have included 'the TV Series'. But do you think anyone would believe that the CIA/MI6 would train areal chimp

Lance Link Secret Chimp- The TV series should do it-
Mention Get Smart by all means- particularly given the shared production history. Anything being a piss-take of UNCLE has a hard job tho'- the last two seasons were a piss-take in themselves, even if it didi start out pretty serious.
BTW, you don't have to re-submit entries once they're in Peer Review already- you can just post to the thread to say you've updated the entry

cheers mate!
Obviously this series hasn't been sold to German TV but, gathering from your entry, it definitely *should* have!

Apparantly, they actually released the film Rambo in Vietnam. To get around the small fact that the baddies where mostly Vietnamese they dubbed the film in such a way as to make them appear Chinese. So a little fancy footwork and Lance may appear yet!
