A Conversation for Ian Dury and the Blockheads' 'Reasons to Be Cheerful'

Dury Lyrix

Terry Teadreg

Ian Dury may be remembered as a punk icon, but he was foremost and all a Rock'n'Roller. So starting this lyric with a reference to Buddy Holly is not so strange. Two other bits refer to R'n'R classics: Jump Back In The Alley is part of Tutti Fruity by "Little" Richard Penniman and the Nanny Goat refers to the song "Bo Diddley" by the artist of the same name.

Wee Willy Harris is a real living person and a friend of Ian's.
