A Conversation for Talking Point: Television versus Radio

A dud action film is sometimes OK if ironing shirts but the delight of listening in to stored stuff on the radio4 or 2 website means you don't have to miss stuff. Broadband helps a lot but it should be OK from anywhere on the net.
In the car radio is the only option but if I mention timeshift taping I might just get moderated
.
I listen a lot at night and once wrote to thank the BBC for putting the world service on Radio 4 wavelengths overnight. Much to my surprise John Tusa (yes it was a wee while ago) replied to say he didn't mind if folk went to sleep while listening

Kelly, Owlatron's American thundercat, and not creative enough to come up with a cool tag Posted Nov 12, 2002
I have to agree with Pinboy. I live in the US as well. There are four radio stations in my town (and a bunch that come from out of town). In town we have a country station an easy listening station (of all things) and two top forty pop stations. All of the other stations we get are top forty pop as well except for one classic rock station. The trouble with radio here is that it is all music all the time. The only 'shows' are news shows that tell us things we already saw on television or read in the paper. I wish it was better (that's for all you American broadcasters reading this message).

I spy with my little eye another Wave 105 listener...although if I actually hear rewind I get depressed because it means I'm still stuck in traffic at 7pm
coded message only makes sense to south coast residents who also listen to a certain commercial radio station

*waves back at PencilQueen* it's the only decent station we've got down here I have to fight for it at work as the younger members listen to Power FM, I'm usually AT work when I listen to rewind, the quiet storm isn't too bad either, ah the loneliness of a night worker.

It's the only station I could recieve on the trip between Bmouth & Soton in my old car...I wish we could get a radio here...it might brighten the place up a bit.

It's a good job I can't use it I'd never get any work done and I'd have lots of hungry sailors banging on the door.

No luckily I work on my own, no it was inconsiderate people who wanted feeding, this job would be great if it wasn't for the nurses, security guards, patients and fire pickets
