A Conversation for The Terranic Army

"1. who is Jane Doe???"
She has just joined, check the front page.
"the army requires you to provide them a greeting and place their name on the front page"
Yes I am more than happy to greet people, but the surgence of people joining shortly before Christmas convinced me that we need to look to the future. And if we have a few people who can pop in and tell people about the base it would be useful. They don't have to say alot : just "Hello and welcome to the base" would do, if they so feel.
"people find updates about the army by taking part in terranic army threads and subscribing to things like notice threads."
The main purpose I would have for this second group would be to catch up on those I feel have been missing for a long time. They would be kind of "ACE's" for the Terranic Army. That is the plan anyway.
I know the Army would get on quite happily without them, but I feel that, with these two groups in place it would allow more ability to improve the army. I am of course open to suggestions.

Oh b*gger . I didn't mean to do that. , am I supposed to self yikes that, or do you think it will be alright, given what happened last time . My computer decided to crash, and I thought it wasn't sending it. Instead it decided to send it 7 times!
Anyway what do you think of the message (ignoring the amount of times it has appeared)?

that's not what i am saying. there is no point other people welcoming people as they do not add them to the army page, you do. the army page itself should be made to explain the base to people, then you need to welcome them when u add them to the page. having other people welcome too doesn't change the fact that they need to be welcomed by the head and be added to the page.
>"The main purpose I would have for this second group would be to catch up on those I feel have been missing for a long time. They would be kind of "ACE's" for the Terranic Army. That is the plan anyway."
the army doesn't need ACEs. if people don't visit the terranic army regularly, then that is their business. they don't want people going around regularly posting messages on their personal spaces which they find boring about what's been happening recently. if they want to find out they read the notices thread, and take part in things.
>"I know the Army would get on quite happily without them, but I feel that, with these two groups in place it would allow more ability to improve the army. I am of course open to suggestions."
no it would not allow more ability to improve the army. the idea of the regiment split is to give the army more ability to expand, with each regiment becoming the responibility of the regiment leader, with the regiment leader's being the responsibility of you. therefore, it is up to the regiment leader to run the regiment, provide more welcomes and help for new recruits, with you providing the first welcome and bringing new recruits to the discussion of the regiment leaders in another thread, and the job of the regiment leader's to update their recruits in the manner of which they please.
the two suggested new groups has a bad effect on the structure of the army, mixing people from different regiments together, having them update people from many different regiments, and keeping the army from expanding in multiple different directions with each regiment.
the groups you are suggesting would not improve the army, but would simply be a step in the wrong direction.

Spook I will agree with you on everything except the "ACE's" section. I appreciate that some people may not want to continue, but I have seen a few people who appear to be confused as to what is going on in the army, and I feel we perhaps need people who are designated to help them out. I think we should move this conversation out of the notices thread and to here : F97320?thread=233248&latest=1 .
I will admit I have probably been a little hasty in my suggestion. But I am willing to accept better suggestions.

Well it was but I think I have fixed it now. You could say it had a multiple personality disorder. But I wont because that would be a very poor joke

due to the disrespect i have received in this army from verc, mystrunner, reefgirl, and fwt, i have decided to quit. i have been through enough real life problems to realise that i do not want or need the treatment i have been receiving, and therefore have decided to leave. i can still be convinced to stay, but only if people start respecting me, and since the people i have mentioned probably don't really care, i doubt that will happen. the regiment page i run has recently been updated, so all the details are accurate. it will not be deleted, and will be around until somebody else takes charge.
goodbye...

I notice the notices don't appear to have been noticed for some time, though they may have been noted. Anyway, (trying to adhere by the unwritten and unknown rules), I've now noticed the notices, noted down where they are and I hope that everyone's noted that I've noticed them.
Think I need a lie down now.
