The Twilight books are a set of "horror" themed teen romance books aimed at hormonally ravaged young girls.

the active participnats are a young girl/woman, a seemingly late teen vampire and a similarly aged young man/werewolf

Basically its the story of a womans choice

the books have been adapted and made into films which have proved extremely popular with their target audience.

the Twilight series has also pulled the teeth of vampires in popular media by romantesising them, turning them from souless(whatever that means) killers into misunderstood, aghst ridden victims
