compliment --> complement (in a few places)
the operas for which they were written for --> the operas which they were written for
a multi-movement piece for one or two movements --> a multi-movement piece of one or two movements
Bourée --> Bourrée
Passacagalia --> Passacaglia
semi-quaver --> semiquaver
and contrapuntal, containing various polyrhythms --> and is contrapuntal, containing various polyrhythms
The Italian courante is a lively and in simple triple time --> The Italian courante is lively and is in simple triple time

Strange that last one: 'courante' is French, and the Italian equivalent is 'corrente'. Strangely enough the English ought to be 'current' but that never seems to have been used; instead the 17th century English composers mostly used 'corant' or 'coranto'.
