Now I lay me down to sleep,
while o'er my head the lawnmower creeps.
If I should dream before I wake,
I'll imagine that its blade will break.
I've spent a lifetime dodging noise,
trying to bear it all with poise,
but to have to spend eternity wearing earplugs
is probably a little bit too much.
So, a pox on all who disturb my rest,
and any who continue to pest,
for I have earned each furtive wink,
by having had too much to think.
A full life by far, by far too full,
has led me to give in to heaven's pull,
so I don't think I need to suffer,
just cause some idiot can't fix a muffler!
