Well shazz is getting there.

"She speaks!...."
"If I profane..."
and
"I know not how..."
are all from Romeo & Juliet.

"Kiss me Kate..."
is from The Taming Of The Shrew

but the others are as of yet unnamed smiley - winkeye.

... then you have:
'Doubt that the stars' from Hamlet
'Alas poor woman' from The Comedy of Errors
'Foul words is but foul wind' from Much Ado About Nothing - which sums the whole thing up very nicely indeed Mr W smiley - winkeye

*Replaces 'The Complete Works of William Shakespeare' on her shelf until the next time they come in handy* smiley - winkeye

Anyone notice the grammatical innaccuracy in one of the quotes btw? Our Will was fallible occasionally! smiley - laugh

A big gold star to put on your forehead shazz!
Well done on all counts! Gad. How DID you find them all? LOL

'Foul words is but foul wind...' is my absolute favourite line from Much Ado About Nothing. And Emma Thomson delivered it beautifully in the movie version which, regrettably, is the only way I have seen that play performed. But I have watched it a few times.

*pats handy dandy copy of "The Norton Shakespeare: Based On The Oxford Edition" sitting beside his computer*

A grammatical error!?! But I checked so carefully smiley - groan. Oh... umm.. it must have been Billy's fault. Yes. He was excited and typed quickly. smiley - erm

T'was Will I fear, though such a dear
Who mixéd a plural noun with a single verb!
'Foul words' doth to mine ear denote so many
But 'tis paired with 'is' - ah there lies the rub! smiley - winkeye

I adore Shakespeare smiley - doctorMO. smiley - biggrin I had the luck to go and see at least 2 plays every year performed outside at a grand Country House - one tragedy and one comedy. I recommend seeing A Midummer Nights' Dream, at the very least, this way. smiley - smiley
