I love the way you have intertwined your life with the advice of Arjuna. It's all still relevent, even if it's ages old and couldn't event comprehend a deep fat frier. No matter. It's still worthy advice.

smiley - laugh Thanks. I'm of the opinion that good advice is not thick enough on the ground for us to disregard any of it.

And those old tales are beautiful. smiley - smiley

As to deep-fat fryers, I'm suspecting their advice would have been, 'Use clarified butter. It never gets that hot.' smiley - rofl

My mother was born in India, and there was always a smattering of Hindustani running through our family vocabulary. I can speak a few words. smiley - rofl. I know that's different to the Hindu religion, and Sanskrit, but it connects somehow. I have a response to these matters.

I love Hindu art and writings.

I love the Indian mystical vibe. The what? The mystical vibe. I get the Gita. I'm in love with the Gita. I've never read it - yet - smiley - rofl - but this is a good start. smiley - rofl I would see it as very meaningful if my copy came through the fire.

Interesting writing style here in this piece - different use of tenses. ? I love it. It has energy and spark. I'm glad there are mystical writings in the world. They give me energy and spark.

smiley - rofl Thanks, CC.

Click on the link in the story. You can read the Gita.

Print out the writing of the original. The symbols will haunt and fascinate, and you may draw on them.

Listen to it...accompany it with synthesised chords...smiley - whistlesmiley - musicalnote

Did your family drink chota pegs? Isn't there a short story called 'When Pape Swore in Hindustani'?smiley - wow

Seriously, I love Hindu philosophy. It helps me visualise abstract concepts without the maths. Since I'm practically innumerate, this is a useful thing.

I love the way you masterfully combine everything, and even find a positive aspect in your recent disaster. smiley - smiley

Like I told Hypatia, I'm not fond of the 'glass half full/empty' analogy. But there's never a situation you can't learn from, I suspect...smiley - winkeye
