I love that first sentence! . I was immediately drawn into the story!
And the names Eli and Ezra have a very poetic ring.
And the explanation paragraph made a wonderful picture in my mind, with phrases like and , all mixed in with the steel ball and the red rubber ball - even though I probably didn't grasp all the technicalities - but that's just me. 
(as an artist myself, I often make my own pictures from other peoples' pictures - I read pictorially.)
Nice one, ITIWBS! And I envy that vintage red Camaro!

PS. I was getting so carried away by that red Camaro, I forgot to add my own title to this conversation entry - . The title is fine, but seems somehow ungenerous in this context - but hey, I'm too late now .
