A nice piece, well researched and written as per.

Couple of minor points below other than that looks good.

Being a greatfan of Rupert Bear,and, of course, the Beatles,this video was close to my heart.

In fact I have close to 30 Rupert annuals and assorted videos.

Yes Geggs is right, the version released by Terry Wogan and the TOG Chorus was released as 'We All Stand TOGether', so that is what I put in the Subheader. Worth clarifying though.

--> It's not (completely) clear to a non-fan that it's DT's last performance in the role [as Doctor Who], but to be honest there's no real need to include him in that sentence as it's got nothing to do with the film (sadly). It you want to keep him in, perhaps footnote it so it doesn't confuse the main text.

--> you already mentioned this in the previous paragraph (non-italicised though). You're mentioning it to tie into the next mini-sections about those two shorts, but it feels a little heavy handed to have two mentions. Perhaps cut the first mention to "...and two short films." or something similar.

Thanks for your comments. I've added a couple more quotes and done something which the Master, The Daleks and the Cybermen never managed - deleted David Tennant delightfully as well as Seaside Woman and the Oriental Nightfish.

Excellent Entry - very thorough. I don't think I ever realised Paul McCartney was the voice of Rupert, but now you mention it I can hear it in my head... (I've watched that video so many times since 1986...)

Good description of the other films on the video, too - I quite liked Seaside Woman, but in my youth I always thought The Oriental Nightfish was too scary, for some reason (I watched it a few years ago, and it was OK!)

I feel there's too much detail in this entry. I've no problem with you providing details of the Rupert Videos, but I don't like the fact that you've given the same level of detail to other songs and videos which are nothing to do with Rupert, other than that they appeared on the same release.

There's a lot of minor editing to be done, the most important of which are your use of capitals on small words such as "and", and your use of the word however. It's best to get these sorted out, as they really slow down the sub-editing process.

It's normal not to put capitals on small words like "and" and "the" in titles, so this should be:

Rupert the Bear and the Frog Song

Similarly, you should change it to Rupert the Bear every time you mention him.

a special place in the heart of children -- this sounds better with "hearts"

The film has a simple plot, Rupert goes out to play -- change the comma to a colon

In block quotes, you should use quotation marks or italics, but not both. You have both.

I recommend using italics, and use quote marks inside to denote the nested quotations. Your practise of changing back to normal text for the inner quotes looks clumsy.

June Whitfield has also appeared in four Carry On films -- remove the word "also" here, as it suggests that someone else has starred in four carry on films.


The initial release was on a blue background with a border of Rupert's scarf however a re-released had a simple white background -- you've used "however" here when you meant "but". Change it to but, or restructure the sentence into the way "howevever" is used:
