Entry: Run for the Ribbon, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA - A757253
Author: Jimi X - U53353
This entry is a quick look at an annual event in a southcentral Pennsylvania community.
It covers all the bases and doesn't leave out anything I can think of.

Hi Jimi,
A well written entry - as usual.
But this happens every week (in Buffalo, several times a week ) all over the continent. There are races for all kinds of causes. Volunteers marshal the intersections and a police cruiser leads the way. Free T-shirts and a post race party with free food.
Is there anything you could say about it to differentiate it? Who exactly founded it? How much money do they raise?

How about that it happens in Hummelstown, PA?
That's about it. It's the only event of its kind in this small community.
Though it's not a fundraiser, just a community get-together...

Hey Jimi,
This is a great entry and just makes me want to move to the Keystone State even more. It's this kind of commuunity activity that is lacking in this Sceptred Isle.
Thanks for an inspiring entry, my friend.

Hi JimiX,
I wasn't putting your entry down
And it sounds like it's not something that readers in the UK would be familiar with.
It's just that I'm a distance runner and my calendar revolves around these local races. There are small towns here, like yours, that organize just one such event per year. There's one called Shore to Shore from Huron to Georgian Bay, across the Bruce Peninsula. It's for Adult Literacy and is run the same day as the frog jumping contest. My club runs one where we honour a local running legend and the money goes to Alzheimers. And then there's places like Buffalo where there's a race down town a couple of nights per week through the summer. Usually to promote a bar or restaurant, with a street party after (and before and during) the race.
And not all are fund raisers. I know some like yours that are just get-togethers for runners and walkers.

Or in this case, mainly walkers.
No offense taken btw.
I was more amused by your asking for something distinctive about the Run of the Ribbon - it's about as vanilla as they come.

This is a great entry Jimi - why is it still here... I'll just give a homecoming call to the Scouts...
Who's going to be first past the post...

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Certainly my contribution to PR has diminished lately Jimi....
RL is a pain in the neck at times
Congratulations anyway

This entry was so perfect, there was nothing to say
But generally, I've noticed that trend too.
Congrats.
