Arg! Application forms. Forms for everything... Forms to get address of people to supply forms...
Fill this in... Fill that in. Can I not just *tell* you what I want?
No you *need* everything written down for your little goldfish brain to read again and again - oh OK.
Put me down for one, and no you can't 'borrow' _my_ pen, use the last of _my_ ink...
Plenty in the shops... If you wait 10 minutes the rain will stop... Yea, bound to turn to hail stone.
Grumpy? Oh because I expect something to work as it is claimed too. Or somebody to do what they say they will that makes *me* grumpy does it - fair enough then.
Going to post it now - *if* it works, a bloody miracle!

Oh dear. And as if all the stuff wasn't enough, you've got Hogmanay to look forward to as well. Far too much festivity, and more than enough to make anyone grumpy.
So welcome on board!

Fill the place with a load of 'winging winos'. watch the blog threads overflow with how hard *life* is, hard done by they are.
So its the *universe* that owes them for stacking the odds aginst them, always somebody elses fault.
That's right, get grumpy people to drink - that'll cure em... The answer to *everything*
its for the *cough* flu *cough* purly medicinal.

Don't go Lucky Star! You don't have to be sad all the time to be a member of P.U.D.D.I.N.G. as long as you don't tell the rest of us to cheer up
I'm often quite cheerful myself (she says ducking tomatoes), but it's nice to be sad when I'm sad, and not be told to cheer-up. When, I'm sad or depressed, I need to feel that way for a while. I don't think pretending otherwise is good for you.
Stay in P.U.D.D.I.N.G. Lucky Star, and be sad or happy whenever you want!

jab, I must apologise for overlooking your application to join a couple of weeks back. I have now added you to the page. We might sometimes be a bit slow here at P.U.D.D.I.N.G., but we do work on Christmas Day.

D'you know, I have actually given myself to blow my top a bit more frequently these days!
I promise not to tell the rest of you to cheer up.
Now, back to enjoying those Grumpy Old Men (Peel, Clarkson, Wakeman etc)on telly being entertainingly curmudgeonly about Christmas.

Welcome back, Lucky . I agree that it was very thoughtful of the Beeb to think of us grumps at Christmas by repeating that wonderful show.
Just one thing though: '...given myself to blow my top...'? Sounds vaguely rude! Do you mean '...given myself *permission* to blow my top...'?

Ormondroyd, thankyou. Not for you to appolgise, I could have made my application more direct. - Working over Christmas eh? With the wisdom of 'JC' "Hope you did'nt spend Boxing day buying a cr*p sofa". thats' Clarkson, not the *other* JC.
Good to know others can accept that sometimes it's right to be somber. The need to ponder without being told "it might never happen". - It most likley has happened, and I what is wrong with solemn anyway?

Cheerful Dragon Posted Jan 1, 2004
I'm not normally grumpy. In fact, I've a fairly well balanced personality. But from time to time I get low or out of sorts, and I demand the right to remain that way. I don't *want* to cheer up or to be cheered up. I have even been known to tell hubby to " off and leave me alone". (He is wise enough to know when to tread carefully, most of the time.) If things don't go the way they should because of faults in 'the system', or somebody's incompetence, that annoys me and I don't see why I should pretend to be cheerful on those occasions. And I reserve the right to wipe the smile off the face of anybody who says, "Cheer up, it might never happen" just because I'm not grinning like an idiot when they think I should be smiling. I'm not miserable, for crying out loud! It's perfectly possible to be happy and yet not be smiling, for pity's sake!
So sign me up for P.U.D.D.I.N.G. And sign up my cat, Bonnington, in the cantankerous cats. He's the least playful cat I've ever known, and won't even try to be friendly. He'll scratch you to pieces if you try to pick him up, and won't stay still to be stroked. I'd hate him if he wasn't so handsome, which somehow makes his unfriendliness harder to bear.

Not really grumpy, just somber most of the time, and get accused of anger/depression just because I don't smile (ever). Increasingly irritated at incompitence and stupidity (as opposed to ignorance, which can be fixed). Anyway, I'd like to sign up. I'd also like to sign up my cat Chloe for being pure evil. She sometimes sits in front the couch looking at me with that 'I'm plotting your demise' look in her eyes. That and she hates to be touched. Rather fond of her, probably for her evil nature. It suits me well.
