I can only agree with Táralómë. You might well be PUDDING material, Jedi Apprentice - that bit about hittimg men with s sounds quite promisingly grumpy - but I must ask you to apply again with a more suitable Smiley.

Well, probably you weren't a member because you'd never asked to join before!
But better late than never. Welcome to PUDDING, MaW!

Wheee!
I may be happy now, but I was justifiably grumpy earlier, as our cable modem crashed, leaving me alone in the house with no electronic friends to talk to.

I have to admit that I would be less than usually disgruntled - nay, I would be positively honoured - if I could also become a member of your illustrious group. If for no other reason than that the 'Heroes of PUDDING' list includes Samuel Beckett and Leonard Cohen, two of my all-time favourite people.
BTW - I'm surprised no one's mentioned Bob Dylan as a 'Heroes' candidate. More than a great songwriter, he also pushed back the frontiers of obnoxiousness that it was possible to get away with in interviews with poorly-briefed journalists. For this, as much as for his music, he has my greatest respect.
And if we're allowed fictional characters, there's always that old alcoholic and part-time sea dog Captain Haddock, perfect foil to the incurable do-gooder Tintin in Herge's famous cartoon books.
Yours, with fraternal grumpiness,
Lear

Welcome to PUDDING, Abbi and Lear.
Abbi: I like your page, and I hope you'll enjoy visiting PUDDING when you're at your least fluffy.
Lear: what a superbly PUDDING name! (I trust that the reference is to Shakespeare rather than jets?) I liked your 'Heroes' suggestions, and they've both been added. I found a truly great Captain Haddock site to link to!
As you're both music fans, would either of you care to contribute a verse to The PUDDING Anthem? The song so far can be found at A1005193.

That Captain Haddock site is a gem! I shall keep it on my favourites list, for those times when 'Anamorphic aardvark!' or 'Fancy-dress fascist!' says so much more than a simple 'f---' or 's---' word.
You're right, Ormondroyd, 'Lear' is quite resonant for this page. Actually, I had Edward Lear in mind more than Shakespeare, but never mind. I don't recognise the jets reference by the way - what's that about?

I forgot about Edward Lear!
Lear jets are a type of small aircraft. See here for illustrations: http://acam.ednet.ns.ca/seen2000/ler.htm .

you're landlord says your rent is late,
He may have to litigate,
You may have to sink into prostitution and degradation to pay it,
Don't worry Be Happy....2,3,4,...
Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to puke up while I gloat
Don't worry, be happy
In every life we have some trouble
But if you're cool and you have some stubble
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now
Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no place to lay your head
then you'll freeze and you'll be dead
Don't worry, be happy
The landlord say your rent is late
He'll pimp you out until it's paid
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy, Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy, Don't worry, be happy
