Hello to all you happy smiley PUDDING people ;-)

Post Team

This is shazz from <./>ThePost</.> here.

As one of the more succesful, established clubs around here I have decided that it is about time I asked you all a few questions. This is basically for a special forthcoming edition of your h2g2 newspaper in which we will also be interrogating your founder Ormy.

So... if you would form an orderly queue without too much grumbling and asnwer these simple questions I/we would be grateful.

1) What makes you depressed in real life?
2) What makes you depressed on h2g2?
3) What breaks you out into grumpiness in real life?
4) What breaks you out into grumpiness on h2g2?
5) When do you feel most like a PUDDING? - choose between: morning/afternoon/evening/night and Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter
6) Do you snap out of being a PUDDING when you? - choose between:
Read THHGTTG/Watch THHGTTG/Think about THHGTTG/Read a forum on h2g2.
7) When you joined PUDDING were you really grumpy or did you just want the chance to be grumpy occasionally?
8) Are you grumpy? - choose from: all of the time/most of the time/some of the time/hardly ever.
9) Is there a specific word/phrase which instantly makes you a true PUDDING?
10) How grumpy were you at being asked all these questions?

That's all folks, so please keep chat to a minimum )not a problem for you lot I imagine!) and help us complete this questionnaire by 27th February.

Look - no smileys!

1)People assuming they know everything about Mental Health issues when they haven't a clue.
2)See 1, as exacerbated by the faceless cheekery of it all.
3)See 1, as exacerbated by the frosty selfishness of the British.
4)See 2.
5)Winter Nights
6)When I read the original Hitch-Hiker books I usually find something to laugh about, except the perjorative portrayal of Manic Depression in Marvin the Android; I never saw Marvin have a hypomanic swing.
7)I was really grumpy.
8)Some of the time
9)No
10)Extremely; you've put surprisingly little thought into it.

not even grumpy smilies?

1) People seeming to dislike me (I just assume they do a lot of the time!) losing favourite things, esp. books, my llife being disorganised.
2) People squabbling/leaving
3)People trying to push me around - I get seriously narky
4)ditto - doesn't happen half so often though!
5) Winter - well January and February especially - attacks don't have more specifc timings, but I think sunshine is a defence against PUDDING-ness
6)pretty much all of the above - of course I forgot to bring the books and radio plays up to uni with me didn't I
7)wanted the chance to be grumpy peacefully
8)some of the time - when I am I want to be left to be so though.
9)"Oh dear, I've lost my tail again"
10)not grumpy, just bemused.

A questionnaire? Interesting... hmmmm...

1) Lack of daylight

2) No activity in conversations I'm subscribed to or people posting over my head as if I was invisible

3) Dark or dark-grey cloudy mornings, PMS

4) People who post without consideration for other people's feelings, even if it isn't aimed at me

5) Winter

6) I don't re-read the books that often, I don't have the radio plays - but ocassionally people will be wonderfully smiley - weird and smiley - silly on h2g2 - that really cheers me up!smiley - biggrin

7) I was grumpy because other h2g2 researchers had recently tried to prevent me from being grumpy and were trying to cheer me up when I wasn't the least interested in cheering up!smiley - cross If they think I appreciate seeing one of my grumpy journals turning into one of those silly exchanges of single smilies, then they're wrong!

8) Some of the time - it's a bit difficult combining being grumpy with being an incurable optimist...smiley - silly

9) 'Oh chill out, will you!'

10) Not grumpy at all, just fascinated that somebody would be interested by grumpiness!smiley - weird

Oh well (grumble, mutter) I suppose I should join in... smiley - sadface

1) The abuse of power.

2) Personal abuse. It doesn't often happen here, but that just makes it more of a nasty shock when it does happen.

3) A complete answer to this would be so long that it would make the servers crash, but my most cherished pet hates include: automated telephone answering systems, mega-loud car sound systems, British people wearing fake-American clothes, tabloid newspapers and reality TV.

4) The servers breaking down, and people abusing Peer Review to promote their own obsessions.

5) I'm quite capable of being a PUDDING at any time, but I've always been particularly bad at mornings. smiley - yawnsmiley - coffee

6) 'Snap out of being a PUDDING'? I run the page! smiley - sadfacesmiley - grr

7) I founded PUDDING when I was feeling grumpy about being picked on for looking grumpy. smiley - sadface

8) Most of the time. (Hey, sometimes Bradford City win... smiley - footballsmiley - ok)

9) 'Cheer up, it might never happen!' smiley - yuksmiley - steam
smiley - tomatosmiley - cheerup

10) Intensely. smiley - winkeye
smiley - ta for giving me another opportunity to grumble!

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

1) Rudeness, bad manners, arrogance, laziness, selfishness, wilful ignorance, people who can't see beyond the end of their nose, people who ought to know better but really can't be arsed to make the effort smiley - cross

2) Trolls smiley - cross

3) Car drivers smiley - grr

4) Trolls who sugar coat their troll-ness with niceness and jollity so that other Researchers don't see what they're up to smiley - cross

5) Morning, night, autumn, winter smiley - sadface

6) Why haven't you included "Listen to THHGTTG"? smiley - cross

7) I wanted the chance to be grumpy as often as I feel like it smiley - cross

8) Most of the time smiley - cross

9) "Do you have a public restroom?" "Well, yes, but if you'd stop sucking those 64oz drinks down your neck all day long we wouldn't bloody need one would we. We're a record store, not a bloody rest stop! Who needs to drink 3 pints of cola... NOBODY!!!" smiley - cross

10) smiley - nahnah

1. Watching the news. smiley - sadface

2. It depresses me when there's some quite interesting debate going on, but people start picking up on little mistakes by other researchers, and ignore the main thrust of what they were trying to say. Then it all degenerates into pedantic nitpicking, and gets boring, and the opportunity to explore the subject is lost.smiley - sadface

3. Household things going wrong. Washing machine breaking down, gutters leaking etc., makes me seriously grumpy. smiley - cross

4. People talking in those net acronyms and abbreviated words, and talking in smileys. Leaves me clueless. smiley - ermsmiley - cross

5. Winter Mornings. Just want to stay in bed.

6. Think about HHGTTG. smiley - smiley

7.Just wanted to be allowed to be grumpy in peace.

8. Some of the time.

9. Oh, so many to choose from. I'm going to go for.......Cheer Up, it might never happen!

10. Not at all. Loved it! Nobody's ever asked me about being grumpy before.smiley - ok
