A Conversation for P.U.D.D.I.N.G.
You mind if I join you?

This is a good idea. Sometimes is the appropriate and healthy emotion. Anyway, unhappiness never hurt anyone.

Of course you can join us, Fred. You have been added to the PUDDING page.
New recruits are always welcome here. You know what they say: misery loves company...

In that case, I think I'm perfectly qualified for membership.
I'm well known for being grumpy in RL; how much this shows on h2g2 is for others to say...

If you're grumpy and you know it, spread it around with a big shovel (or clap your hands if there's no shovel available).

Please may a post-menopausal and hormonally challenged harassed wife and mother join P.U.D.D.I.N.G.?
If the above is not qualification enough, my long-suffering husband says that I'm never happy unless I'm complaining and Victor Meldrew is one of my role models (along with Patsy from Ab Fab and Peg Bundy from Married with Children). In fact, I spend so much time complaining to my local Council, DSS, Energy Watch and Local Education Authority , that I feel as though I'm turning into a female version of Victor Meldrew.

You sound ideally qualified for PUDDING, Gwennie. Welcome on board!
With due respect to all the tormented adolescents out there, I sometimes think that we older folk are better at being grumpy. We've had longer to practice and get it down to a fine art.

Adolescent? I may be a late developer, but I'm quite definitely past thirty! If I'm turned down for membership then I'll be even grumpier...

Been in the pudding club often enuf. (That's enuf to make anyone grumpy). Can a potential matricide join please?

'Potential matricide,' Tefkat? You mean you think your kids might kill you?
I've enrolled you in PUDDING, while there's still time. Good luck - sounds like you need it!

I thought a matricide was someone who had killed their mother?
I've been studying the Royal House of Tantalus in Ancient Greece- ring a bell? No? Well Orestes kills his mother and he gets called a matricide.

I've just looked it up and either definition can be correct. So perhaps Tefkat is planning to bump off her Mum?

It could be a vicious cycle of people killing their own mothers. It'll only be stopped when someone invents a time machine to kill their mother before they're born.
