T'was half past nine and not a star
Was to be seen in't nebula
It is remarkable because
Light shone upon a fallen horse-
Indeed, that's what I think it was.
Gigantic shadow on the moss.
Heavenly creature or beast from hell?
To this day no man can tell.

If you will forgive the use of Latin J=I (er, Poe did it):
Twinkle, twinkle, way up high,
What is that? I wonder why
Iupiter's so big and bright,
Let's enjoy the autumn night,
In town there's too much light pollution,
Going country's the solution,
Halo round the streetlamp mars
Telling stories by the stars.

I hope it's not too late:
The things one does to earn a crust,
Work all day 'til fit to bust,
Imbibe a beer at the end of the day,
Losing half of the hard-earned pay,
In fitful sleep, my brain goes numb,
Going over and over what's still to be done,
Half way through – and panic sets in
Today the deadline – maybe I will win
