Dear all,

It's becoming very obvious to me that I don't have the time / energy at the moment to continue to run the Wilde Awards, so if anyone would like to take it over, you'd be very welcome. See A722053 for details.

Duties consist of posting a new thread calling for nominations at the start of every month, another posting at the end of the month calling for votes, and then annoucing (and informing) the winner and updating the page with his/her details and a link to the winning witticism.

It's been quiet, but that's almost entirely my fault! I've not really got round to calling for nominations. It probably needs re-launching somewhere and somehow. If you'd like to take it over, you'd be very welcome indeed! I'm not sure what the best way to go about this would be - can I give you edited rights to the page, or would it be better for you to copy it and then for me to change the existing page to a redirect or something?

OK, time for some activity?

My suggestion:
__________________________

1. Create a new email account with hotmail or similar

2. Use this to create a new reseacher space with:
a user name like H²G² Wilde Awards
a password shared between a few of us
(along the lines of the Grim Reaper U198667
or the (Un)official h2g2 bugfinders U215500)

3. Copy and paste the current page to a new A-page

4. Otto posts a redirection link from the current page to the new A-page

5. Ask the Italics to shift the threads
