Gnomon - time to move on

A72024563 Social Climber

The brother-in-law of Clark, Newton's landlord in Grantham, was Humphrey Babington, a Senior Fellow of Trinity College1 in Cambridge.

-- this seems a little bit cumbersome. I think it would be better phrased as:

Newton's landlord in Grantham, Clark, had as a brother-in-law Humphrey Babington, a Senior Fellow of Trinity College1 in Cambridge.

William of Orange, landed and staged a bloodless coup

-- hardly bloodless! - this was probably the bloodiest war to ever affect Ireland, and its after-effects are still being felt in Northern Ireland. It wasn't insignificant in Scotland either. You could just remove the word "bloodless".

A72024905 Celibate or Closet Homosexual?

The section on Wickens needs a little rewording, as it is repetitive. We are told "Wickens assisted Newton in his alchemical researches" and two sentences later "Wickens assisted Newton with his alchemical experiments". Later in the same sentence we have "alchemical experiments" again.

Remove the header "The Mint". It's normal not to have headers at the start of entries.

The section on Chaloner should include a reference to the Feuds entry where the tale of Chaloner is told in much detail.

That's the lot! Just make these changes I've suggested and add Dmitri's pictures and this project will be ready to go.

Thanks for the spot on 'bloodless revolution', Gnomon, and all the other profing you have done in general.

As an aside, since writing this I've got back in contact with an old schoolfriend who has become a historian specialising in that period. It seems that even in England, there were a couple of pitched battles and an awful lot of rioting - yet if you put 'bloodless revolution' into Wikipedia, guess what happens...?

I assume the 'bloodless' tag is a bit of C17 propaganda that has stuck... it's a fascinating bit of UK history, and it's possible to debate whether it was a 'revolution' or an 'invasion', whether the 'glorious revolution' actually included Scotland and/or Ireland or whether they were separate conquests, and so on.
