do not understand what you are saying it makes me to be thick as a brick so I do not understand computer talk but if showen that is difference. so you know what i mean. Ok - just a couple of things ...

Firstly, on the internet, if you type in all capitals it is looked on as shouting and may be seen as as little rude - this is something you should remember, not only on h2g2 but on other sites as well.

As your main reason for posting here is to find information on an ancestor, I suggest that you contact the Australian Society of Genealogists - their web site is http://www.sag.org.au/ and they can help you with your search.

They can recommend web sites and teach you how to use them. They also have all the shipping records, with all sorts of information. You may also find that someone has already done a lot of research on your ancestor.

If you are not comfortable with using the web site you can also ring them or even visit their offices.
