I had a bright orange back pack and got there for about 1:30, I thought it was OK to be a bit late. Ah well how did it go?

Really??? If you'd've asked for my number, I'd have given it to you... But never mind...
I'm surprised we missed you actually... We were in the station by the Cornish Pasty Shop till at least half past... then the majority of them went across the road to a pub called the Forum. Whilst Bluebottle hung around at the station, and I went with Das Mouldy Sandwich to the Park. Then we all gathered at the Pub, and me and Prof C Tonks, went back to the station to look for you, Ming, and some of the possibles... But we couldn't find anyone/no one found us...
Eventually we dragged the majority of them out of the Pub, and wandered over to Caversham Park (just over Reading Bridge) where we played a softball/rounders style game... Then about half 3 to 4 we went back into Reading and lost some of them to a tiny Pub... and the rest of us wandered round the Oracle shopping thing, and we managed to break one of the lifts!!! There were about 12 of us in this lift, and we all started jumping! But then the lift stopped, and we didn't know WHAT was going on... so we tried all of the buttons... but nothing happened... then we tried the "alarm bell button" but still nothing happened... So eventually I decided to see if I could open the doors... And to my surprise they opened (with a little force) and we were about a foot from the ground floor! So we all bundled out and decided it was best to escape to the outside river seating area...
Eventually we all met up in the Hogshead Pub, and stayed there till about 11...

Yeesh, 1:30 was the time me and mum arrived... oh dear... sorry DoctorMO!
We seemed to miss everyone all the time...
I guess next time we'll have to say a particular place in the station.

Pastey Posted May 12, 2002
Yes, the (west country)(i think) pasty shop. It was right opposite Burger King, next to Costa Coffee.

The Fish Posted May 12, 2002
Yeah, it was the "Cornish Pasty Company" and it had lots of chairs and tables outside. It was oposite Burger King.

The H2G2 People (Mark, Peta, Abi etc...) Usually organise a Summer and Winter meet in London. Which are usually great fun!
There's a list of "Community Meetups" (one's organised by us) here: A435791
The next one I "think" is the Southampton meetup...
I'm still really really annoyed that we missed you... If you'd have e-mailed me, I'd have sent you a contact number, and we'd have come and found you... Bluebottle had to go off at about 6, to find GreyDesk... (eventually...took him a while though ). What did you end up doing for all that time?

Oh I just sat around, athough I don't think a contact number would have been much of a use. as I have no phone, although there is always a red box.
I'm OK now about it, I just don't want it to happen again if I try to go somewere.

Hence the contact number...
It made my life a "little" less panic'y, as I wans't wondering about where EVERYBODY was, just you....

could be, hmmm... somthing tells me it would have been a good idea to write more information down, or perhaps a prepear some kind of fact sheet for people? not sure. a phone number would have helped though I'm sure. hmmm...
